A Note from Wildbill...
The translation of RS-III has been attempted several times before. A
few talented individuals may have even kept it in mind while working
on other projects, but Lee Chaolang envisioned what would have seemed
improbable to many of us, had we known of his intentions. He would
start from scratch, do the fontwork, script dump, actual translation,
and re-insertion of English script, then test everything - all eight
character scenarios!
When Lee first approached me for webpage support, I was more than amazed by
his revelation, and readily agreed to help. I felt that Lee's undertaking
embodied the finest spirit of what the Confederated Translation Company
stood for, an association of friends who pursue this challenging work
purely for fun. It is because CTC people choose their own definitions
of membership, that they also enjoy as much freedom and independence as
they desire. But CTC'ers always know that if they ever need anything,
someone will probably be willing to help the cause!
In my first draft of the RS-III "Home" page, I depicted Lee's work as
"amazing". He thought that word might be a little too strong, so I
changed it to "exciting", because that was exactly what I felt when he
brought me aboard. Yes, Lee has created a level of excitement, the likes
of which I have felt only a handful of times in the production side of
the this fine hobby. Thank you, Lee... I will be happy to share
in the fun when your RS-3 translation patch goes out to the rest of the
RPG gamers in the world!
