I replied to your question in your site, but if you read it here, is Meteor Shard and Meteor Shard = Time Stone.

The Time stone will reset the battle you're fighting.

Again, sorry for screwing up the recipe, lol.

Hi, snowy! Welcome to the party. Thank you for finding this thing that no one else has seen.

Try the hotfix below and look for the literal translation of what may go here instead of the numbers you saw. It's "Gust!!"

; String: 0
; とっぷう!!<end>
Gust!![end]

Yeah, I know it's not much, but it could be the tower has air currents that are forcing you back. If this works in these instances but you can make a better suggestion regarding the wording for this string (assuming it's the correct one and fixes the problem) feel free to suggest better and more dramatic phraseology.

Thanks!

That was easy enough! As for what text should go there, that is a more difficult question. I don't recall the game ever mentioning neccessary items like the Magma Stone or the Heavy Stone in dialogue, but when I tried to enter the Magma Stone area without it the simple text (paraphrasing) "Yeeouch, it's hot!" was enough for me to understand that I needed something. I think something like the old video game staple "A strong gust blows you off your feet!" would be effective enough to trigger in most players minds a memory of "Oh, I probably need something here". It's a matter of whether or not the player will know to check under the sea to find the item though, as opposed to the Magma Stone which was in the dungeon itself. That's an issue with the game design, however, rather than a translation issue. I remember bringing up the gamefaq for this, and the author didn't even realize an item was needed!

I don't know what character limits you're working with but I think you get the idea!

Hmmm... Maybe if instead of "You're being sent back by the wind" DD can transform it into a more "The Wind Dragon is talking to you while sending you back"...

I don't know the limit for this message, but maybe something on the lines of "To get to the top you must start from the bottom" or some kind of thing that may indicate or point that you need to go as low as possible, and seeing the submarine when you go back to the overworld may put the idea of going underwater in the head of the players...

...Or maybe i'm overthinking this too much and I shouldn't.

Hi, i noticed this weird thing in a battle at Gyab Far's Base with Gujeau.. there seems to be a break line going through the screen, like a graphical glitch/error
or something.. i'm NOT sure if its the way the game intended it to be or not so thought i'd post a pic here just incase, it does NOT seem to happen on any other fights throughout the game, just her fight. Tried the usual stuff, play the fight with a load from the game and NOT save state, still the same. I cant send rom to you cos I only noticed it after i was going to edit the pic i took for the sanctuary so I carried on and saved past the fight, sorry :( belows the pic tho.. it's easier to SPOT if you look at her hand then follow it along to her wing.. you can see it clearly there.

Try loading an SRM just before the battle with the Japanese ROM. The text boxes may be glitched, but the graphics should be true.

Well, I just finished Super Shell Monsters Story. It's a fantastic game and a fantastic translation.

I didn't see anything wrong with Gujeau fight.

I have a question:

Spoiler! :
Are there more endigns?

I see that each character you have in your party has a last moment you see, but, is there another outcome for the hero or something like that?

I would be lying if I said I didn't want him to stay, i'm really bad with "goodbye" endings, even if they are pretty common, lol.

I left a lot of things to do for next playthroughs, asi I usually enjoy replaying something more than playing it for the first time, and this one has "must replay" all over it.

Great job, Dynamic Designs!

Gratz on the game completion Maeson, i agree, the games fantastic, great translation, and has replay value written all over it.

my thoughts on alternate ending..

Spoiler! :
Apparently SSmS 2 takes off near enough straight after the first story. As for the ending in SSmS 1 .. there are alternate
endings depending on who's in your party at the end but as far as i know.. the hero always leaves the world by force, not by
choice

Major, major, major spoiler. Read and heed!

Spoiler! :
SSMS-II begins in the far future. I'm guessing maybe 500 years. The hero is still you, of course, but the actual person appears more modern than the turbaned fellow. You see references to familiar human heroes of yore, but shell monsters enjoy extremely extended longevity apparently. So get ready to have a reunion with some familiar favorites from Shell Village!

I think this monster is called Hanman, but I may be misremembering. It uses an ability called Focus. Then on the next round there is this message.

Is it supposed to be "fool's strength"? If so, my apologies. I thought it might have supposed to be "full strength" or something similar.
