Ritchie just sent Block 19, Trade City Castle. The first 11 strings finished the Mevius and Iris transition between World-I and World-II. This means the translation of World-II is officially underway, and all of World-I is done!

I did a spot translation of Block 42 - Sword Port, also in World-II. It's only four strings long, and the first one translated to "Sword Port", hee-hee...! Basically, a couple of sailors tell you the law won't allow you to sail the ship back to World-I. They welcome you to the new continent and set up a makeshift Inn on the wharf so you can save your game and heal from the Star Relic battles.

I still need to go through all of Ritchie's misc file translations and update the menu structures that we have. When I get this done, I will update Bongo`, Recca, and Red Soul. I haven't bothered Bongo` recently because the push is on for Chaos Seed.

We have lots of time with BH, and things are lookin' good. Thanks, Ritchie!

You know, for more than a decade I have thought about Deltaflame's and our work on this game during the C.T.C. days. I always had an urge to see it take off, an itch I couldn't scratch. I figured it would be good because it's Enix. I had a firm idea planted inside my mind. Well, now that we're deeply into it - much further than I ever expected to be at this point - I can say this...

It's even better than I thought!

I've had the same itch for GDLeen, lo, these many years. I looked into that one once for Cataclysm-X (Where the heck are you...!?), but the coding was beyond my aptitudes - then and now.

Okay, if Yuka will come on here and offer some encouragement, I will post screen shots of the transition between World-I and II!

See, see? You got me all inspired to cobble together a little package here...

I need to find out how to synchronize the sound. The dialogue is not totally polished. I may have a few typos.

Nicely done Wildbill! The intro and overall text in the game looks and sounds great. Heh, Mevius and Iris sure are a funny couple! It's great to see this game progressing so nicely. I'm certainly glad that Ritchie is translating BH. He's BH walkthrough is very well written too and the only one I've seen so far. We most likely wouldn't have gotten this far without his help. The translation looks great overall!

I still have a lot of menu work to do before I update you and Red Soul. Ritchie has been on a roll, and I'm struggling to keep up in the time I have available.

Anyway, I just created that D-D YouTube site for our games. I posted this along with the first video of BH:

This preview of a Super Famicom role playing game called "Burning Heroes" offers a sample of what's coming in D-D's future English language version release. Another Enix masterpiece, Burning Heroes promises to deliver the same charm that players all over the world enjoyed in its Dragon Warrior and Dragon Quest series.

This video contains preliminary dialogue that is still being written, evaluated, and polished. We have already identified a few typographical errors. Some of the menus will be redesigned, as well. For example, the names on the battle page will be four letters long and displayed symmetrically.

Note: The pause between the Start page and the pre-introduction is in real time. Please allow about half a minute for the pre-intro to roll.

I'm hoping someone may tell us the best way to capture these SNES movies and synchronize the soundtracks with the videos. I used the AVI record feature in SNES9x V1.43. Choosing this option in V1.51 crashes the emulator.

Gamers are invited to comment and participate in our Burning Heroes and other forums. We offer a friendly, laid back, fun-filled atmosphere. I'm really pulled sort of two ways on this general concept. If an individual offered a service in which he re-flashed an eeprom inside a cart or burned a replacement eeprom for insertion inside a cart that was provided by the cart's owner - in other words - he converted a customer's cart of a Japanese game to a translated version of the same game, selling only the chip and billing a modest service fee for the labor, I wouldn't see a problem with this. As a courtesy, I would hope that such an entrepreneur would solicit the permission of the group that created the intellectual property (the patch).

I've also investigated a cart that will fit into a console that has a large-capacity SD chip to hold the ROMs and simulated battery saves. The data loaded into this device could be kept under the control of end-users, same as the software, hardware, and chips available for the NDS.

But I have a big problem with someone using a cart of a basically worthless game that he bought at a yard sale for 50 cents, inserted a $5 eeprom that's been burned with our translation, relabeled it in English to look like the real thing, and sold it for 60 or 70 dollars! Still, I've often thought how nice it would be if all my Japanese carts could be "upgraded" in this fashion for playing on consoles. Reasonable labor would be, maybe, $10 per cart if the process required 30 minutes or less. Add postage both ways and perhaps a new chip, and I can see up to $25 per cart, total.

Yes, I ordered my Hourai from a gamer in England, finally. I thought I would never get my hands on a copy!
