Hello, thanks for translating this game. I have been enjoying this group's projects for quite a while now!

I ran into an error during the "Wind Tower". If you go into the tower before you acquire the "Heavy Stone" from the undersea cave near the tower, you will be bounced backwards and it shows the message "11:0" where I would imagine text should be!

I kept running into the wall in various places trying to find a way in! This is the first glitch I have encountered though.

Hi, snowy! Welcome to the party. Thank you for finding this thing that no one else has seen.

Try the hotfix below and look for the literal translation of what may go here instead of the numbers you saw. It's "Gust!!"

; とっぷう!!<end>
Gust!![end]

Yeah, I know it's not much, but it could be the tower has air currents that are forcing you back. If this works in these instances but you can make a better suggestion regarding the wording for this string (assuming it's the correct one and fixes the problem) feel free to suggest better and more dramatic phraseology.

Oh, I saw this back then when I talked about the Land Dragon, but I thought it was something to do with a puzzle... I mean, there is a sun button, it shows you 11:00 hours, and the screen flashes...

It happened to me until I went to explore a couple of small places, then it disappeared... I thought it was supposed to work like that.


I feel stupid, lol.

That wrong name bug is here too.

I loaded a non-hotfixed translated rom, and the names were correct. Something seems to have gone wrong with one of the fixes.


Oh, and I don't think it's an error, but....

Well, the game will obviously use the same pointers to all the fountains to save space, so I think it's normal for that to happen.


About the enemy name... Well, I couldn't care less to be honest, after so many rpg's with weird or ridiculous names for their normal enemies.

I mean, I've already saw, from the top of my head Hedgehog Pie, Flan Princess, Heck Hound (Hooray for censorship), New Age Retro Hippie, Dingalings, Cum Cum, Birthday Suit, Lubricant (Although this one was because bad translation from Rubicante), and even one named Language Barrier, just to name some easy to remember.

And that's not counting anything from La Pucelle or Nippon Ichi games (My god those always makes me laugh).

Let me explain to all about the numbers.

Both when we and previous groups worked on the same files, we introduced these kinds of numbers into a few random strings. These are simply markers. For example, in 11:0, the eleven is the block number, and the zero is the string. That's all there is to it. If we weren't sure of a translation or had never seen a string output in the game, this was one way to identify what a given string caused to happen in the game.

The flashing screen effect is a good piece of information for someone to tell us because we still have similar numbers entered in a few blocks that appear to have no text to translate, just [end] codes. We would like details from anyone who sees any more numbers separated by colons (:).

Always, a possibility exists that some text that needs to be translated did not dump. We have already seen four occasions of that in the battle messages. In essence, all players who report glitches become members of an expanded staff that helps us fine-tune the game. We appreciate it, so keep those cards and letters coming!

Maeson, are these the numbers you saw in the Land Dragon lair when the screen flashed?

I need to know exactly so I can take out the numbers and make a side note that String 6 is a (hidden to me) control code that makes the screen flash.

The only fix that could have affected the name order would be the one that fixed hyphen support (an assembly modification) and added four new battle messages. All of the other changes related to slight adjustments in texts and lists of names and features. We'll look into it.

As for the odd goat, I need to see the Japanese name before I can explore a new name. As mentioned previously, my "list" files don't display the Japanese in a set-aside place. But a name change is a simple matter requiring mere seconds to perform.

In a couple of hours I must depart to attend a wedding out of town. I may have a few spare moments later tonight, tomorrow, and Sunday, to slip away and monitor any reports that come in, but I can't count on that right now. Otherwise I'll be back in the responsive mode on Monday.

Wow, I didn't know about that.

About the Land Dragon question, no, I explored the entire thing, optional rooms included, and I didn't see any numbers with colons, when there are flashes (like when you use the magma stone or Land Dragon's instroduction) or some kind of effect like the quake animation the game does just fine.

The only time i saw the numbers and colons was at the place of the screenshot, the Wind Dragon's lair. That's why I thought it was some kind of puzzle, lol.


Today i've been exploring the overworld and seeing character's sidequests, I didn't see any problem with them for now!
But I have one question, there is an item named "Strange Map" with a description of "????".

I guess it's totally on purpose, right?


In other news, I also managed to get a new fabrication item: The Whale Tear! Now i can do a full list of items created with Dr. Deep!

I'll edit this as I get all the possibilities with the Whale Tear, and i'll put a comment on the Sanctuary when I have all.
