Well... Here's yet another translation request for Chaos Seed... Hope it's the last. How many times have I said that now?

These should all be names for Senju. The game lets you give each Senju a particular nickname, but if you are too lazy to think up something by yourself, then you can use the select button to scale through a list of potential names. Ultimately, they will all have to be cut down to 4 letters MAX, but feel free to translate them normally. I'll chop them all up later. :)

By popular demand, here are all the Senju proper names! Well... Except for that last one; he is an NPC. Anyone is welcome to pop in here and give their two cents on what they think the translations should be.

窟子仙
牛鬼仙
蒼牛仙
人虎仙
赤虎
影虎
角兎妖仙
幼龍仙
沙門龍
邪邪
蛇神仙
妖蛇仙
三攻蛇
馬明仙
華娘仙
羊仙
紫羊仙
清風呪仙
猿王仙
華翼仙
鳥翼仙
紫翼娘娘
犬狼仙
嵩山方士
泰山方士
龍 = The little Dragon in the game (no translation needed)
王 蒼幻 = This was translated in the text as "Wang Sougen" I believe... On second look... I wonder why it wasn't just translated as King Sougen.. heh

Ah, now I remembered why these went in Chinese - it's because they are definitely supposed to be Chinese-sounding names.

Especially...

If he was a king, the 王 character would be at the end. Wang is a very common surname. Also, "Sougen" is a blooper on my part since that's the Japanese reading. The correct Chinese reading is probably Canghuan. At the risk of repeating myself, this is 99.99% supposed to be a Chinese name.

As I said, I'll run through a list of possible Japanese readings and painfully literal English translations, but I assure you that these names are supposed to be Chinese-sounding and most of them sound like gibberish when translated literally (try translating your own name literally :V).

Quote:
窟子仙
Kutsushi-sen
Cave Sage

牛鬼仙
Gyuuki-sen
Bull-Ogre Sage

蒼牛仙
Sougyuu-sen
Blue Bull Sage

人虎仙
Jinko-sen
Weretiger Sage

赤虎
Sekko/Akatora
Red Tiger

影虎
Genko/Kagetora
Shadow Tiger

角兎妖仙
Kakuto Yousen
Horned-Rabbit Sage

幼龍仙
Youryuu-sen
Young Dragon Sage

沙門龍
Shamonryuu
Shramana Dragon

邪邪
Jaja
(Can't literally translate this one, character meaning "evil" repeated twice.)

蛇神仙
Jashin-sen
Snake God Sage

妖蛇仙
Youja-sen
Mysterious Snake Sage

三攻蛇
Sankouja
Three-Attacks Snake

馬明仙
Bamei-sen
Horse Bright Sage

華娘仙
Kajou-sen
Flower Girl Sage

羊仙
You-sen
Sheep Sage

紫羊仙
Shiyou-sen
Purple Sheep Sage

清風呪仙
Seifuuju-sen
Pure Wind Curse Sage

猿王仙
En'ou-sen
Monkey King Sage

華翼仙
Kayoku-sen
Flower Wings Sage

鳥翼仙
Chouyoku-sen
Bird Wings Sage

紫翼娘娘
Shiyoku Joujou
Purple Wings Girl

犬狼仙
Ken'en Sage
Dog-Monkey Sage
(Dogs and monkeys are supposed to be enemies in Japanese culture like cats and dogs for us. There's an idiom in Japanese, "the relationship of dogs and monkeys", which means a bad relationship.)

嵩山方士
Suusan-houshi
Lofty Mountain Mage

泰山方士
Taisan-houshi
Lofty Mountain Mage

Ryuu
Dragon

I hope this demonstrates that the literal translations you'll get out of these names are completely gross, and I assure you that the generally sound pretty bizarre if you take them as Japanese names. There's a very clear Chinese influence to the names and I honestly think they'd be best rendered in Chinese.

There are some errors in the transliterations above. Incidentally, there seem to be a few patterns to the different sets, eg sound effects, foods (Anzu "Apricot", Puramu "Plum" and Nattsu "Nuts" are all in one set) and so on. I'm afraid I don't really have time to look into these, and I'm not that familiar with the game, but I do recommend that you have someone look into them.

Check your table file - is that supposed to be a small ッ?
If so, this is just "Yuke" ending abruptly -> sounds like the command "Go!" using an old-fashioned/literary form of the verb.

There's that small ッ again. Just "Pochi".

Please double-check your table file - starting a word with ン is extremely unusual.

テッテッ

Tette (small ッ again). Might even sound more like "Te-Te" to English speakers.

フ゜ラム = Puramu

Given the other names in this set, I'd say this is "Plum", but it'd look silly to have this one English word in the list.

Quote:
ナッツ = Nattsu

And this is "Nuts", but as above, it'd be silly to revert to English here.

ヒョウ = Hiyou

Note: It occurs after you have fully revived the Dragon Vein and restored the earth (for the first time??).

It's 活龍完遂.

The first Kanji is lively, resusitation, being helped, or living.
The second Kanji is dragon.
The third Kanji is perfect, completion, or end.
The fourth Kanji is consumate, accomplish, or attain.

The 3rd and 4th Kanji may be a compound usage, in which together they could mean "accomplishment".

Therefore, I would guess this: "You have revived the Dragon Vein".
or just, "Dragon Vein Revived".

If it helps, this is literally "Accomplished revival of the dragon". Don't know the game too well, but it seems like this is more about dragons than dragon veins. "Revived the Dragon".

Thanks for the help Satsu! As far as Senju names go (the ones that were in Chinese), I'm going to have to really ponder what to do.. You see, the game gives them these "names" automatically, but every Senju that you summon must be given a "nickname" of only 4 letters max. Maybe it wouldn't be so bad to use the weirdo descriptive names because players are going to be asking themselves, "Why do these little buggers need to have two names?" Then again... When you start a game, you have to name your hero AND give him a nickname (abbreviated name). hehe.

I'll make some adjustments to the Senju nicknames where I can... Again, these are the names where we only have 4 letters max :(

Hey guys! It's been a while since we've had to post anything in this thread. It looks like all major strings of text have finally been translated. Sadly, however, there were a few rogue bits of dialog here and there that got overlooked. Any help in translating the following strings is greatly appreciated.

File: CSeed 182
Desc: At this point the main character's Master is describing a "Teleport-Stone", which is a monument used to warp into the Enchanted Cave.
; へーっ、飛天功みたいにブワーッと[Newl]
; ワープするんですか?

File: CSeed 05
Desc: Comes from Senju (Spirit) World. Here one Senju creature is talking about the snake in the village. These creatures sometimes speak quite erratically, so the original translation was a little difficult to understand.
; あーははははは。[Keyp]
; やめちゃったっ[Newl]
; つったって[Newl]
; 何が変わるわけでもなし[Keyp]
; 安心して帰んな,
; 蛇のこたあ気にすんなよ。[Keyp]
; じゃあな。

It was translated as...

Ah-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha![Keyp]
Nothing will change even[newl]
if you stop.[Newl]
Don't mind that snake...[Keyp]
Relax and go home.[Keyp]
You know(see you then??).

File: CSeed 25
Desc: Another one from the crazy Senju world. The problem with the translation is that I have no idea who Torisen is... Can anyone clarify it a bit for me
; トリサントッテモ[Newl]
; ウタガスキ

translated as:

Torisen really likes music.

File CSeed 25
Desc: These last 3 are crazy bird-speek dialog strings... Really not sure how to accurately translate them on my own.
; ピュッツツーイ、ピイ。[Keyp]
; ホー、ホータ、

; がんばれ。[Keyp]
; ホ、タルノー[Newl]
; マタタ、キニモー[Newl]
; ニタウーキヨノ

; クィクァイマニマニ[Newl]
; マニマニダスキー[Keyp]
; クィクァイコー[Newl]
; クィクァイカム

I think that's all of them... Rather i HOPE that's all ;) Many thanks to anyone who can help out!

Not to worry Draken, I've got you guys covered as anyways! Or rather, the translators over at RHDN whom I've asked for assistance have got you covered:
http://www.romhacking.net/forum/index.php/topic,14180.msg205708.html#new

Hopefully, LostTemplar or many of the other skillful translators from RHDN will be able to provide a translation for these remaining CS lines soon. I would have liked to translate these myself, but my Japanese grammar isn't all that good yet. Though I'm still studying and will become fluent one day...! Well anyways, keep an eye on this topic if someone decides to post the translation there instead of here.
