Great work on your various projects. I feels great to play the sequel to Paladins Quest(LennusII) since it was never released to the US.
I'm trying to get mystic ark to work however I cannot get this patch/ROM to work. I've tried various downloads the game works prior to patching (some say bad rom others don't but the game loads). Upon patching get the DD Splash screen (info at the bottom also says bad rom afterwards) and then a black screen. I've tried both removing the header and not removing the header neither seems to solve this problem. Pretty frustrating! Almost makes me wish there was an accessiable translated version of the game already patched with no issues (but i understand the morale/legality part of that why it isn't hosted).

I had a similar problem with lennus II it would say 'bad rom' for both snes9x/zsnes after patching but the game ran flawlessly.

I've also tried BSNES which was recommended. Same flaw, splash screen, then black screen.

Since IPS programs are somewhat outdated (they don't support as far as I know 64 bit version of windows 7/vista), my flash drive is hurting from swapping to another compatible computer everytime I apply the patch.

Any help would be greatly appreciated Thanks

Seems to me that you are probably trying to patch a rom with a "header". There are patching programs out there that will remove the rom header... Not sure which one is popular these days. I can only think of Snestool (ancient, but very useful). Once the header is removed, hopefully, the patch will apply correctly, and you'll be able to get in-game :)

I tried that, same issue. The game/ROM/Emulators does the same thing regardless if the header is removed or not.
Aye Using SNEStool

Edit: OP says I tried both removing and not removing the header same problem :)

The headerness (whether it has a header or not)
in a ROM isn't the only factor you should take into account, make sure you are
utilizing the correct ROM revision before patching.

I will update this post with the information on the ROM you require.
Note that an emulator claiming "bad ROM" isn't a direct indication
something went wrong; the emulator simply doesn't recognize the
patched ROM's resulting checksum, which is quite normal.

Edit: Here is the base ROM the patch requires.
Mind you, I'll only list the information that matters, please
run your ROM on NSRT (a SNES patching suite you can get
at romhacking.net) before patching.

Header
None

Interleaved
None

Revision
1.0

Checksum
Good 0xE668

Game Code
AEAJ

Hashes

CRC32
FEB80589

MD5
540E82F13AD57A2C6FFC0E14E3F61098

If you have no success removing headers and
patching through NSRT, please PM me.

Okay, you came back after six days. I took it down after two days.

Try this link and unzip it. Don't patch it. Just play it and report back ASAP.

yeah sorry I've had some real life stuff that came up didn't get a chance to do much :( will report back thanks

Edit: That did the trick THANK YOU.
Man I'd like to know what the heck I was doing wrong. I did the same thing I did with Lennus/Paladins Quest II and it only took two attempts to patch that and I've had NO problems up to this point (level 20).

Now to see how horrific in difficult this game is, considering I never finished 7th Saga though I got close. Anyone know if XP is shared in this one like in the first one, took forever to level in that game ><

thanks again 1000x's over

(To Redsoul or another developer)

Is NSRT the best program to use to patch? Since IPS and SNES tools do not support 64-Bit OS's like Windows 7/Vista? I tried NSRT but I'm not sure if the patch successful worked or not prior. I have used IPS and SNESTool and it gave the ok but same results showed up. I had this same problem with Lennus II but it only took two attempts to get it to work.

I'm not sure about 64 bit support for NSRT, since the readme doesn't specify it, but I'd say its probably the best option you have.
The old policy of keeping multiple backups of the ROM you are manipulating always helps.
I wish I could help you more but I'm running on XPSP3 here.

In any case, its pretty likely older apps like Snestool won't do the job right, so I'd keep NSRT and set compatibility to XP
before running, that can improve your odds. Regardless, keep in touch and we'll be always willing to help you.
We hope you enjoy the game, it is a masterpiece and we poured our souls into the patch.

Edit1: When removing headers, deinterleaving or doing any sort of operation with NSRT, refresh the information
(by double-clicking the ROM you're manipulating, it appears on the hive structure to the left) to confirm
the operation was successful before patching.

I.e: The ROM you have had a SWC header, you choose to remove, then doubleclick your rom.smc on the left
and confirm the header info reads "none" afterwards, then patch it.

Edit2: Experience is awarded equally to all party members present and alive, if I recall.
But I assure you MA is a completely different experience (It is not 7th Saga 2 by any
stetch of imagination, even if some think it is).
