Release will probably be coming sometime soon. However, I want to tamp down expectations right now before release happens. I warn you this game is in a pretty broken state. It has a major bug where it will freeze when characters other than the main character level up and gain skills. This requires you to use a Japanese rom to get past this bug. There are some other bugs later in the game that may also require this as well during boating sections. We probably won't even bother with major beta testing because of the brokenness of it. We've tried to find help fixing these to no success so we're just going to throw it out there with a warning that it is VERY broken but completely translated. Maybe after release we'll get the help to fix it. Maybe not. Sorry, it is what it is. This game has an enormous script. So the fact it is fully translated is monumental. Thanks to our translator brandnewscooby. I sure wish this had gotten to the point it was completely playable and still hope that someday it does. But it is time to let your work out there so it can shine. |

Even if it is pretty buggy, I'm sure there are a fair amount of people that would like to try it out. How do the bugs on this compare to the ones on Sacred Age Odyssey? Is there any chance those games might be released in the same state? |

I've been visiting regularly waiting for any update on the first Odysselya and/or Oni II. Even if it's in a less than ideal state to play, it will be nice to at least have the chance to give it a try and have a glimpse of what the plot is about. Given there seems to be little interest by the romhacking scene in continue translating the few still worth playing rpgs that the snes has, any work made in this regard is welcome. |

Wildbill wants to get those out soon as well. They aren't nearly as broken as Oni II but do have bugs here and there. We had hoped to get them out this Christmas, but both of us are busy so it didn't happen. I need to get time to write up the readme, hopefully I can get it done and get Oni II out on the 1st of the year. The others are up to Wildbill. And when he gets time to deal with them. No promises, but I will try. |

Download is on the download page and the project page. I'll make a front page news story later tonight, feel free to grab it now and not wait until I make the news story. Remember this thing is pretty broken. It can be completed in English but you will need to do some work to get there. |

Hello, everyone. Hope everything's going ok. After some time having to postpone it, I finally managed to gather some free time to try this translation. I got a rom and patched it, but I've found a bug I'm not sure if it was mentioned or not. When I start playing, everything plays fine until I exit the first town. From then onward, the music glitches and becomes an ear rape mess. It only fixes itself by saving at a jizo statue in that same town and reseting the game. But it happens again the moment I set foot on the overworld again. I've tried the original unpatched Japanese rom and it doesn't have this problem. I don't know if it's a known bug caused by the patch, or maybe I'm not patching the right version of the rom. Could any of you please give me the rom size and CRC of the version you used to create the patch? To tell the truth, it isn't the first time I came accross a similar problem, and usually it was due to patching a wrong rom version. Also, which patch format do you recomend using? So far I've used the ips one and patched the rom via the online patching tool found at romhacking.net (made by Marc Robledo, I think). By the way, I'm using the latest snes9x version for Android, the one found at Google Play (I don't own a desktop computer currently to test the windows version of this emulator). Cheers ![]() Edit: I recalled Marc's online patcher gives you the crc of the rom you're patching, so here's the one from the rom I used: 1cf3c877 Edit 2: aaaaand as always happens, right after asking a question, I find out I've just embarrassed myself. There was a readme file in the Zip file where the correct rom size and crc32 of the rom to use was specified. And it's the same of the rom I've used, so the problem is either in the way I patch the rom, or the emulator I'm using. I'll try the other patch formats and i'll keep you updated. Thanks for everything ----------------------- Edit 3: Well, after some more tinkering, this is what I've found so far. The game keeps having the same sound problem using the bps version of the patch, patched again using the online patcher tool. I've also used Lemuroid. Same problem (I suppose it uses the snes9x core). And tried both lemuroid and the standalone snes9x in another phone which is newer. Anyway, the game works fine up until you open the box in the shed next to your house. That's when the music gets distorted from then on (I said it before already, but this doesn't happen with the original version). You can save ingame and restart the game and it sounds normally again, but it ends up happening again later (usually when you do something that forces a music change: exiting a village, entering a dungeon...). Pushing the select button to get the character talk scene, seems to accelerate this. By the way, wouldn't this game have some kind of cheat or hdden option to launch a screen where you can listen all the musics from the game? (Kind of like Tales of Phantasia has one). This would help to do further testing (it's not like I have the skills needed to fix any of this, but rather to research a little more about how this bug behaves, just for fun). |
