Hi, guys. First of all I want to say that, if this message is in any way innapropriate (I don't know if cheat codes are frown upon in this forum), just feel free to modify or delete it.

Ok, moving on to the topic. I've found some cheat codes for SSMSII that I think some people would appreciate (specially the ones who think the random encounter rate is too high). The link is this one: http://wikiwiki.jp/snes007/?%C2%E7%B3%A ... %AA%B8%EC2

Perhaps the "no encounters" code could be used to fine-tune the amount of randoms this game has (I've played a little the Japanese version, to the extent my limited knowledge of Japanese allowed me, and I don't find the randoms specially annoying, but I'm a big fan of old-school rpgs so I'm not bothered at all by the encounters). Nevertheless, perhaps some may find useful the no enconter cheat in some parts of the game (I've read from Wildbill that it's a really tough one).

The code for disabling random can be found by searching エンカウントなし on that web

Or even better, here it is

Thanks for that info. I was actually waiting to hear from WB to see if we should just modify the encounter code and have a separate release for it. I suppose it would be considered an easy mode.

You both read my mind! Thanks, akualung!

Bongo`, could you make me a new *.cht file with the "no encounter" code, etc., added, at least? The *.cht I used during the first pass to avoid grinding included level and money codes only.

BTW, no need for anyone to ever tipsy-toe around on eggshells if you're the bearer of such helpful offerings!

Just to share with everyone, I've translated entire Japanese website pages, in which Japanese gamers have complained of encounter rates and the overall difficulty of this game. Maybe that's why we saw no SSMS-III. It's still - as SylarDean put it - a masterpiece. Hard isn't necessarily bad.

Nice find, there's a couple on the SSMS-II Sanctuary.

https://snesrpggaming.weebly.com/ssms2- ... codes.html

I can't for the life of me remember where I found the codes.. I know Helder created a few of them, I for sure didnt get them from THAT
specific site though.. LOADS of codes there :O

I for sure used the no encounter a few times playing through beta v0.88 .. the world map encounters were not that bad but my god.. some
of the dungeon's encounter rates are really high, to the point where often it's 2 steps fight, 3 steps fight. I think it's a decent code to have at
hand when playing the game to be fair.

Damn, that's a real shame. It was really one of the better sites out there for retro RPGs. Maybe you should host it elsewhere.
