I was able to find a website with all the names of the monsters from SSMS II that allow Poyon to learn his techniques: Google Translate does give english names, but posting the Japanese ones will make it easier to identify them when playing through the game Here's the website if you want to confirm: http://www.super-famicom.jp/data/ta/d_k ... ju204.html I tried my hand at offering the tech names in english, Mostly based off of Google Translate's translation. Some I made more simplified English, the enemies names will remain in Japanese mostly because the translation of SSMS-II isn't finished yet. Fire Breath: Learned From ガメノゴート, レイダー, or ヒップー Poison Bubble: Learned From モスバブラー Bird Rush: Learned From バードマスター Spore: Learned From スウィート Thunder Horn: Learned From サンダーリザード Blinding Sands: Learned From サンダーホーン Joker Game: Learned From ジョーカー Eerie Laugh: Learned From ジャック or スカイフェイス Kai Waves: Learned From ノイズィー Gibogiboatakku: Learned From ギボギボ Will o' Wisp: Learned From 死霊使い Whispers of Dead: Learned From ゴーストナイツ Triple Attack: Learned From スケアリー Fart: Learned From ヒップー Water Barrier: Learned From シーウォーカー Kaiser Drive: Learned From カイザーブルー (Kaiser Blue: Story Boss) Leaf Shield: Learned From トレント Ice Stare: Learned From ドリーマー Swarm of Flies: Learned From ヘルバタフライ Nightmare: Learned From ドリーマー Rinpun: Learned From ヘルバタフライ Firestorm: Learned From マントルスネーク Acid Mist: Learned From ガス魔人 Hydra Attack: Learned From ヒュドラ Megabeam: Learned From ハングローダー Snake Arrow: Learned From マーダーヘッド Pot Also returns in SSMS-II, you can find him in the kitchen of the Grangram castle (Castle you wake up in after the start of the game's events), talk to the one of the chefs to get Wine, and poor it in the strange pot in the kitchen to get him in your group. You get his summon spells by finding Dimensional pots scattered around the world: http://www.super-famicom.jp/data/ta/d_k ... ju202.html http://www.gamefaqs.com/snes/581806-dai ... faqs/39865 Fire Leo: Pot starts with this Fiborg: Grangram Schoolhouse Garuda: Nycalo Mt., Andre's room Spark: Ruined village (need Andre) (Must Fight) Triton: Kotai Underground Prison Titan: Monkey cave (need Ukkie) Flare Demon: Vahn Mountain (Must Fight) Thunder Unicorn: Marinallen, Tem's house Icarus: Fice (Must Fight) Venus: Kutomina Daedalos: Cave near Kimoi (Must Fight) Vampire: 9:00 Time Ruins (To access the Pot you need all 7 monkeys of Ukkie's team) (Must Fight) Death: Cave to Nekojarashi (Must Fight) Gainamelter: Fire Leo/Flare Demon combo (level 36) Poseidon: Underground near Nekojarashi (Must Fight) Fattobajah/Fat Badger: 12:00 time ruins The GameFaQs one doesn't have all the locations of Poyon's learnable techniques hence why I only posted the Japanese one |

Are you the same Ryan who gave me beta testing input earlier this year? BTW, we have named the "Pot" character "Urnie". We're just getting started with SSMS-II. I am happy to hear that Urnie/Pot will appear in the sequel. He had quite a back story in SSMS-I that ties in with the Shell Monster Island folks and one of the four sisters.

Not the same guy. I just played through the game and read various Japanese sites using Google Translate in addition to Walkthroughs. Since I heard of the Project I was interested in giving some input to help speed up the process because people were having trouble with Poyon's techs in the first game's translation. |

In the first game, Poyon learns his techs randomly, as you know. He must be in the party to learn them, and enemies must use the techs against him in order for him to learn new ones, as best as I can tell. I haven't progressed far enough in the second game to see if Poyon learns enemy techs exactly the same way, but your information seems to indicate that he does. (I'm still translating strings in the trial cave looking for the Ordeal Orb/Ball.)In SSMS-I testing, we have had no reported problems in regard to Poyon's skills in our English patch. A FAQ for SSMS-I is floating around out there, of course. I have my own heavily doctored copy - for my own use mainly. I have it chocked full of information that we have discovered that the original FAQ-writer (Arcadia) did not include. As Poyon has learned new techs in SSMS-I, I added them to my copy. Here is my Poyon section and tech list as it stands right now: (SSMS-I) K. Poyon Gender: Male Age: Unknown Race: Shell-beast Location: My Town Spoiler! :
He uses hammers and axes for weapons. He's a good fighter. His choices for armor are extremely limited, but defense is good enough that it doesn't matter much. Poyon has the ability to learn the skills of monsters. When a monster uses a spell or special skill on him, he has a chance of learning it. Poyon's spells (skills): Level Name: MP: Effect: Range gained: ----- --- ------- ------ ------- Aqua Wheel....8.......Water attack.............All......n/a Spike.........8.......All-or-nothing attack....Single...n/a (Others are probably out there, but these are all Arcadia listed.) (Wildbill's list: Poyon learned the following in various game plays:) Snap..........8.......Canine nip...............Single...n/a Machinegun....8.......3X Attack................All......n/a Aqua Wheel....8.......Whirlpool................All......n/a Bubble Bomb...8.......Water Attack.............All......n/a Chomp.........8.......Vicious bite.............Single...n/a Fire Lizard...8.......Fire Attack..............All......n/a Change........30......Party Changes Form.......All......n/a Acid Mist.....20......Recurring Attack.........All......n/a Magic Light...8.......Bright beam..............All......n/a Flatulence....8.......Fartin' around...........All......n/a Some of these learned attacks are very powerful. They make Poyon a formidable physical fighter, rivaling Garou! |
