I for one am glad neither of those hacks wound up in the final game. Neither of them would be very readable on real tube TV's. And I prefer readability above all. Cool isn't everything.

I saw this a while ago and if I recall, I told him I was not gonna use the 8x8 VWF or the HDMA code for the textbox. I could have easily used it or coded my own. I've done it before in Light Fantasy 2 and found an 8x8 VWF was a waste of time. I could have used HIS code but the 8x8 item list display was soooo slow WITHOUT the VWF code and even slower WITH the code. So when I did a few speed MODs for the list display, The list were still slow thus why it was scrapped.

Playing translations is about speed and content with the text. Pretty does nothing
for the actual game play unless it's a cut scene. When I hack a game, I'm about being efficient
and getting the job done. Who was a dumb blonde when you can have a great conversation
with a brunette. :) ( Nothing against blondes. ) So basically, we at D-D do have quality in mind
but we don't spend so much of the few resources on cosmetics. A lot of these games take
a lot of reverse engineering that will never get seen.

Seems to be an old glitch that.. try applying the latest .ips fix, this fixes quite a few text glitches, I used this and
I can't recall that text glitch happening.. if you can.. test it out and see if it's still there after applying patch fix 9.
here's the link to it.

Let us know here if it worked out for you or not, thanks Sensemann. I believe Wildbill had stated this is the last
hotfix he will do now until an updated patch is officially released.

I see the error and I'll pass it along to Wildbill. I don't think that one was ever fixed.

I need to see if he can find a few minutes so we can get this fixed patch released.

When are you going to release patch 1.01?

When I departed for family business two years ago, I left some refinements on hold. The biggest are battle banter. I need to sift through old reports and determine where our in-house refinements left off. Maybe someone will help me get a handle on this, but it'll be a while because getting La Wares, Aretha-I, Aretha-I, and SSMS-II to beta testing are priority.

Pete, last time I spoke to you, I believe you said you had become a grandfather. So have I since then. Mine's almost two now. Love it!!

Thank you for the information, Wildbill. Just take your time. I would like to play SSMS l again and of course using the latest patch would be favourable. So I'll wait until you have updated it. Maybe giving Chaos Seed a try in the meantime. :)
