Is their such a creature type in this game? The one that gives you the Gold and EXP in ridiculous numbers? |

The closest thing is the Metal Puff found around the Snow Cave (I may have seen it further south as well). It looks like a silver, puffed-up mosquito. It often runs away; if it doesn't, it'll either cast Meta Calm or attack physically. It drops 5200 gold and yields 5000 experience. Those aren't insane numbers, but they're noticeably more than what the usual encounter gives in that area. |

No doubt, another nod to Dragon Quest, much like the Loto/Roto engraved on a certain weapon shop monument. There may be even more references, but I can't recall from memory right now. |

Metal Slime/Babble only gave insane amounts of XP but also had a high evasion rate and ran away a lot. You can recruit them in Dragon Quest V, though the odds of one joining you is 1 and 250. I've done about 200 battles haven't got one yet |
