With the release of our Silva Saga 2 patch,
I saw fit to create a specific sub-thread for
post release feedback.

Please direct any questions and issues
you may have with the patch to this thread.

We hope all the fans anxiously waiting for
this release may enjoy playing it as much as
we did making it.

I think the information in README file is incorrect about ROM needed for this patch.

In README said the ROM needed for patch is no header rom with

Hashes
CRC32 DAC1C838
MD5 7609277776AA9F2BE0DE614E7199348B

This is for ROM with SWC Header and result for patched file is NOT WORKING.

I tried with No header ROM with

Hashes
CRC32 67E1756B
MD5 DCEC11FCF8C2355F07F6EE4144E70A85

I think this should be proper rom needed and result for patched file is WORKING.

Or should I use NSRT to strip header from SWC headered ROM and use it instead?

Sweet! :D

The patch has already been made available.

Hope you folks won't mind if I spread the word to other gaming forums I frequent.

We are pleased you would do that!

As for the ROM figures mentioned above, that is Red Soul's bailiwick, but he's likely conked out about now. Long night... So, anyone out there who sees someone struggling to patch the game, feel free to jump in and give advice. I just downloaded the zip file like everyone else and set it up in a new SS-II V1.00 folder. Everything works fine for me, but I'm using a backup of my imported copy of the game that I bought from a vendor in Japan (and removed the ROM header like Red Soul instructs). That's the pure way to do this so the politicians in my country won't try to shut down sites such as ours.

BTW, I just modified the Readme again. I forgot to include a "Production" line in the team lineup. Draken did much more than testing. He refined all of Shiva's initial translations and formatted most of the alpha version of the game.

Enjoy SS-II, everyone!

Oh cool :)

I thought I'd be doing something wrong if I did.

By the way, I seem to have hit a bit of a snag in one of the unimportant "tasks" in Memol Village...

I'm not sure if it is an actual task or not but I'm currently doing the "find Picor" task where if you enter Memol at night you will meet his mother frantically looking for him. The mom doesn't ask you to go look for him per se (no "yes/no" or "accept/decline" options) but if you talk to her again she'll say "Well did you find him?". I've looked everywhere in town but can't find him. So is this an actual task or not? I will try checking Departure Cave tomorrow as it is almost midnight here at my end & I'm a bit sleepy now LOL!

Anyway, another stellar release from you fantastic folk!

If I recall correctly, Picor is not critical to advancing, but Mom will give you a nice gift. The boy's findable, in a out-of-the-way place. I can't recall if it's affected by the time of day. I seem to recall a funny scene when you bring Picor back to Mom. Also, there's a lake nearby Adol and Memol with gems, occasionally.

BTW, SS-II is a gold mine of hidden objects. Search beds, firplaces, woodpiles, signs, bridges, windmills, everything for treasure - some quite good.

The ROM info in the readme is not incorrect, I just checked again.
The base file you need should match the info above (and does for me).

There should be no header whatsoever so you can try and remove it with
NSRT, but a ROM booting doesn't mean it will work without problems throughout,
and the one specified in the readme does, believe me, I test played this countless times.

What is the revision number of the ROM you have?
If you have problems, keep us posted and we'll do our best to help you.
