Oni is a great game, though - as are all of them. Btw, what really surprised me when scrolling through that whole bunch of SNES-RPGs: There are only these 21 games (apart from 4-5 others) that I found impressing and which have not been translated so far. All the others are already playable in English or are at least worked on. That's a huge accomplishment from the whole translation-scene, in my eyes!
I thought there were much more nice Japanese RPGs that needed attention. Respect, you guys have done a great job over the last years apparently!
Yep, I didn't realize Oni had that feature until I reviewed the graphics at Moby Games. I guess that style went out with the Edo Period, but the developers used it for realism. We Westerners, however, need it horizontal for "read-ism"!
Re-engineering those screens does indeed appear daunting. Hmmm... I'm not sure Bongo` could crack these!
Thanks for the props. It's all due to the teamwork of a super group of folks. I know I've had fun doing my little piece of it.
