My buddy's doing the same thing. I'm studying for my N2 and N1 Japanese certification. It's never too late!

The Devil takes notes from Lina Inverse? That sounds about right.

As I take a break from G.O.D., I figured I should post another little gem. This is a song that I recently played for my four-year-old daughter on her new recorder (super easy to play). It got so stuck in her head (and not to mention my wife's), that I'll hear her humming it to herself several times EVERY day! So, click to hear/remember "The Place I'll Return to Someday" from FFIX by Nobuo Uematsu: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vW3QK6CTg2g

Ranma 2 Gameboy Music

Here is another one of my favs that someone made a midi of for me some time ago for Magic Translations. This tune was the main reason I wanted to work on Ranma 2 Gameboy, but of course I just never got that done sadly.

Both the Star Cruiser and Star Cruiser 2 soundtracks are pretty great, in all of their iterations, but this piece in particular ("Drastic Days Will Come" I believe) may be my favourite title screen theme of all time. This soundtrack in general captures the sensation of exploring various galactic systems very well. Shame these games never came out in the West, but at least they were both fan-translated. I believe the original creator of SC1 and 2 is working on a new game set in that universe.

To revive this thread a bit - possibly my favourite boss themes out of any RPG; Phantasy Star 4 sure had some great numbers in there. This is also possibly my favourite Genesis OST of all time, every song fits the situation perfectly, which for me is very important in games - more so than catchiness, even. :)

The Xenogears 20th Anniversary Concert took place last week, and it was an AMAZING performance. Any fan of what is arguably one of the greatest RPG soundtracks needs to give it a listen!

Can't promise the link will last very long...

Pretty cool picks there, I really liked GoH 4 and its music in particular! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jB97J5YAbIM&index=27&list=PL6B8FB148FD74ACD8 - I could pretty much link the entire OST and that would be it, since La-Mulana has one of my favourite Metroidvania soundtracks ever created - especially considering that the game was made by one guy, without any formal musical education AFAIK. This song in particular serves as a perfect, haunting backdrop for the tragedy of the race of Giants, if you know how the plot proceeds. The whole soundtrack is at a great level though, so it's very hard for me to pick just one favourite song. :)
