Most of those Game Boy RPGs have remakes too, many in English.

Final Fantasy Adventure was remade as Sword of Mana for the Game Boy Advance

Final Fantasy Legend (SaGa 1) was remade for the Wonderswan Color and there is an English patch for it

Final Fantasy Legend 2 (SaGa2) was remade for the DS and there is an English patch for it as well. I've played this a bit and it is fairly well done.

Final Fantasy Legend 3 (SaGa 3) was remade for the DS and a group is working on translating it in English.

I actually finished the SaGa 2 DS remake only a few days ago. It stayed true to the original quite well, with only a few changes, such as a 'threads of fate' system where your party members can have feelings for each other (such as love, or hate. What this does is allow those members to chain combos during battle). They also changed the final battle quite a bit by adding in more forms and changing it's design.

I thought it was good (it took me 26 hours to finish it), and quite difficult (you need to be really careful about the level system), the graphics were really nice and clean for DS (Valhalla Palace looked beautiful). Although I think the best aspect of the game is the music, done by Kenji Ito and Uematsu. The remixed soundtrack was quite well done, although I do prefer the original. :P

I see, that you are not interrested in Brandish. Can you tell me why? I found this game really nice. I know, that maybe movement is annoying, but if you'll get use to it, then this game is really enjoyable. But i wasn't able to finish it. I did stuck very far in some puzzle room. Whole time i was enjoying this game very much.

Ys 3, and Arcana too? I also like those. They are good especially when you want some break from long rpgs, because they are quite short, and still, enjoyable(for me at least).

Same reason why I could never get into Brandish. You may be aware, but Brandish 2 also has a translation patch now I believe, so if you liked the first, you may like the sequel.

I'm not a big fan of Ys, but I agree with you on Arcana.
As much as I don't like dungeon crawlers, that one seemed to work.

Oh my gosh, I had no idea. I even didn't look for english patch for Brandish 2, and checked on RHDN, and I see it's done since 2009! I didn't look for it maybe, because I actually never heard about any translation of the game.
Anyway, thanks for this info Red Soul. And I'm pretty sure that I'll like the sequel, but first I have to sit down again to first part as soon as it will be possible, because as I mentioned, I did stuck in first part. But I'm encouraged, because of the first part.

Rudra No Hihou (could not get into it because spells are too confusing but otherwise promising, 50% done but quit)

Give this one another chance, its not that the spell system is confusing, just takes a lot of trial and error.
Think of it this way, you have potentially all spells in the game at any given time, just play around with the syllabes.

Okay Okay, you were right, I was wrong. I gave it another try, a little begrudgingly at first. But the game really grew on me and by the end, I really liked it a lot. I barely BARELY got by the last boss (his 2nd form really kicked my butt). It is a good game.

Live a Live, Saga Frontier (more because it lacks a solid polished translation)

I was...ughhh...wrong, again. When I first played, I did not like the ninja portion of Live a Live and then tried the wrestling part and probably picked the hardest boss first and got crushed and quit. That was a year ago.

Started this one again a few days ago. Really getting into this game now. Played and beaten 4 scenarios now. Have the caveman, mecca and ninja ones left. Interested to see how the ninja one goes this time, will save it for last.

Saga Frontier 3, kinda interested in giving this one another chance, since in the past few weeks 2 other square games have grown on me a lot, after intially disliking them a lot.

You know what? I played and beat Y3s last week. Took maybe two days. It was frustrating, nothing special, but glad I played and beat it nonethe less. The single biggest thing that hurt the game was crummy hit detection and is what annoyed me the most, especially on the last boss.

Before Ys3 I took a week and played Dragon View (previously listed under "#5: tried and did not like" and the second time around I LOVED it!! Awesome awesome game, very fun. The same goes for SHADOW run. I tried it again, gave it another chance and really loved it! In fact, Dragon view and shadowrun might be two of, not only the most under rated snes rpgs, but two of the greatest as well (overworld map in DV being the only thing that slightly hurts that game).

I also tried "the journey home" orginally listed under "games I have not played and am not interested in". Meh, I was not missing much. Played and beat it in a night, within two hours.

Right now I am playing Arcana. It is actually not as bad as I thought. Kind of happy I am trying it. I am at the ice cavern, looks like the game will get harder!

Like I said, also Live a live and rudra no hihou grew on me and it turns out I loved them!

Tried Cyber Knight 1 and could not get into it, plus I do not quite get certian aspects of that game.

I might try to beat every english/translated to english snes rpg there is. at least 90% of them (will make a few exceptions as eye of the beholder still does not appeal to me, for example).

Can't blame ya there...
Eye of the beholder should have been released
with a more fitting title like "Invitation to Slumber".
I generally shy away from dungeon crawlers, much
more so when they are western themed stuff, same
for RPGs, or what current gen insists on calling RPGs
anyway.

Heck yah! Agreed. Wild Arms was one of my all time favorite games. I think it came before FF7 but easily rivals that game for fun factor, story and even side quests! And again, the aforementioned Shadowrun taking place in futuristic dystopia Seattle.
