Here I have a game unique enough in the SNES library that I believe it warrants some attention.
Mujintou Monogatari
This is the only life survival simulation game on the SNES that I know of. I've tried playing it and made some progress but honestly Japanese knowledge is a must if it is to make sense and be enjoyable. Briefly the game begins much like the movie Castaway where your airplane crashes and you start on a tropical island with nothing. There are other survivors that you find throughout and you can make different parties and go explore. Each character has their own personality and contribution to the party. You have to gather supplies and make sure you are prepared before you venture out from your hut and explore the unknown. If you don't you won't make it back. Based on your actions there are multiple endings too. Ultimately your goal is to escape the island. It plays more like a point and click somewhat at times but other times you have full control of the characters. It looks interesting and I would love to know more about it. Maybe someone will look into this game someday.

So to add to this game, apparently there was a remake of the SNES game on the Playstation1.
Hyouryuu Ki: The Reportage Beyond the Sea
It was made by a different developer with the same publisher and looks like it got the upgraded treatment. This game may be worth checking into as well.
