The in-game clock will expire this year? I wonder what happens to the game after that point...
Appears the main game will always function. Anyway, I just increased my year in the Japanese version from 1996 to 2099 and can pick any year in between. Looks like the game clock will need major assembly work for our English version. I just tried some basic game clock settings translations, and the English game either corrupted or froze. If that clock and the other game settings menus were working, I could make a nice video from the very beginning of the game - straight through until just before the first battle.

---1. PLG System
When you first start the game, it will ask you to set the date and
time. This time is independant of the saved games. Once you set
the time, the only way to reset it is to delete all the saved
games and reset.
This time has nothing to do with the main story. There
are side events that only take place at certain times of day, but
the main story can be done at any time.
