I noticed the message boards were down the last 2-3 days, was it just normal maintenance or did something else happen? |

Something else happened. And it took that long to isolate the cause and take care of it. It was caused by a background process we use on the server space to do something at a set interval that wasn't exiting gracefully and it kept running new copies and using all of our resources. Code was added to fix the issue so it will exit gracefully now and that will hopefully take care of the situation from here on out. Things should return to normal. |

The internal server error indicated a problem related to perl script, but I wasn't aware TF (our webmaster and designer) had changed anything regarding that. Our counter on the home page also went down at the same time, so that's been an indicator. I glanced over the host's forum topics, but no one mentioned system maintenance. I was going to send an e-mail to their support department (if I could fine one) if we didn't come back online soon.

You know, I tried to post almost this exact same message a few hours ago. I referred to the error code I was given (error 500 - internal server error) and whaddaya know, as soon as I hit the post button, error 500 :p |
